S J Standard Gate Valve Testing Method:

1. Open the gate plate.

2. Allow the internal pressure within the valve to rise to the specified test value.

3. Close the gate plate.

4. Immediately disassemble the gate valve and inspect both sides of the gate seal for leakage. If leakage is detected, promptly replace the valve with a new one.

Alternative Gate Valve Testing Methods
Medium Pressure Test:
As an alternative, inject the test medium into the plug on the valve cover until the specified pressure value is reached.
Inspect the sealing integrity on both sides of the gate plate. Note: This method is not suitable for gate valves with a nominal diameter smaller than DN32mm.

Blind Flange Test:

1. Open the gate plate.

2. Allow the system pressure inside the valve to reach the designated test value.

3. Close the gate plate.

4. Open one blind flange and inspect the sealing surfaces for leakage.

5. Repeat the test until compliance is achieved.

Additional Requirements:
The sealing performance tests for the packing gland and gasket of pneumatic gate valves shall be conducted prior to the valve sealing performance test.
