Spring Check Valves
A spring check valve is a type of check valve that allows fluid to flow in one direction while preventing reverse backflow. It is mainly made of brass, bronze and stainless steel and is resistant to corrosion. It relates to the application of water or other non-corrosive liquids. The valve uses a spring mechanism. It provides the force to keep the valve closed and prevent reverse flow. As the fluid flows in the desired direction, the pressure lifts the valve from its seat, allowing passage. However, when the flow reverses or stops, the spring pushes the valve back into its seat. It will prevent any backflow.
Spring check valves come with two types of seals, metal seats and soft seats.

Soft valve seats are usually made of thermoplastic materials such as VITON or PTFE. They are well-suited for applications where chemical compatibility is important for tight sealing. It helps achieve high levels of sealing performance. However, soft valve seats are not recommended for dirty or abrasive process fluids, as the seals will break and cause the valve to leak in such cases.

Metal seat valves can withstand high temperature, working pressure and harsh working conditions. Metal seats withstand severe flash edges, abrasive process fluids, hydraulic shocks, and temperatures up to 537°C (1,000°F). They are suitable for high erosion or corrosive applications. However, it is easy to leak because of its relatively poor sealing performance between metals.
