What is a Pneumatic Actuator Valve?

Pneumatic actuator is an automated driving device that uses compressed air as a power source. It uses air pressure to push the internal piston, diaphragm or gear mechanism, converting it into linear or rotational mechanical motion, thereby controlling the opening, closing or adjustment of valves (such as ball valves and butterfly valves). Its core features are simple structure, rapid response, explosion-proof safety (no need for electricity), and can work through single acting (spring reset) or double acting (bidirectional pneumatic) mode, widely used in process control systems in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and power.

What is the working principle of pneumatic actuator ?

The working principle of pneumatic actuators is to drive internal pistons, diaphragms, or gear mechanisms with compressed air, converting pneumatic energy into mechanical motion. When compressed air enters the actuator chamber, it drives the piston to move in a straight line or the gear to rotate, thereby driving the valve stem to move and achieve the functions of opening, closing, or adjusting. The single acting type relies on spring reset, while the double acting type achieves bidirectional drive through alternating air intake.
