Single Plate Check Valve VS Dual Plate Check valve

Single Plate Check Valve VS Dual Plate Check valve

Unlike other gate valves, ball valves, globe valves and other valves that need to be driven by an actuator, the clamp check valve is different from the flanged check valve and does not require a valve cover. Due to the short closing stroke of the disc and the spring loading, the phenomenon of water hammer can be significantly reduced. Clamping check valve is mainly used in urban, industrial and high-rise building water supply, drainage pipe network. Because its structural length is shorter than the general check valve, it is more suitable for places with installation space restrictions. Clamp check valves are used for pure pipelines and industrial, environmental protection, water treatment, high-rise building water supply and drainage pipelines to prevent the reverse flow of the medium.
The difference between single valve and double valve is a kind of ultra-thin check valve, using short structure size and single valve design, with O-type sealing ring at the valve flap, sealing performance is good, compared with the traditional swing check valve, this series of valves has no external leakage, can be installed at any position, good sealing performance, small linear vibration, small pressure drop and zero seat ring wear advantages.

Single Plate Check Valve

A single disc check valve is usually composed of a single disc, the disc is fixed on the valve cover, and the valve is switched on and off by rotating the disc. When the fluid is flowing forward, the flap is rotated upward, the valve is opened, and the fluid can pass freely; When the fluid flows in the opposite direction, the flap is subjected to the reaction force of the fluid, rotating downward, closing the valve and preventing the fluid from flowing back. The advantages of single-disc check valves are simple structure, easy maintenance, and suitable for low flow rates and high pressure piping systems. However, its disadvantages are that the closure is not thorough enough, there is the possibility of leakage, and in high-speed fluid or large flow, the valve is not closed quickly enough, which will affect the operating efficiency of the pipeline system.

Dual Plate Check valve

The double disc check valve is composed of two discs, which are fixed on the valve body, and the valve is switched on and off by rotating the disc. The advantage of the double disc check valve is that the closure is more thorough, the effect of preventing leakage is more obvious, and it is suitable for high flow rate and high pressure pipeline systems. At the same time, it closes the valve more quickly in high-speed fluid or large flow, and does not affect the operating efficiency of the pipeline system. However, its disadvantage is that the structure is relatively complex, the cost is relatively high, and when the fluid flows in reverse, it will produce certain noise and vibration.

Difference between Single Plate Check Valve and Dual Plate Check valve

When choosing a single or double disc check valve, several factors need to be considered, such as the characteristics of the fluid, flow rate and pressure. In general, in low flow rates and low pressure pipeline systems, single-disc check valves are sufficient to meet the needs. In high flow rates and high pressure pipeline systems, double-disc check valves are more suitable.
In addition, if the fluid needs to flow in a single direction, then a single-disc check valve is a good choice. If the fluid needs to be controlled in the case of two-way flow, then the double disc check valve is more suitable.
